The Bryce Harper Era continues to roll along. It was announced Saturday that an injury would knock Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton from the 2012 MLB All-Star Game, and who did baseball choose as a replacement for the game? None other than Washington phenom Harper. Oh yeah, his addition to the roster just happens to make him the youngest position player in All-Star history. Via @NationalsPR:
With his selection, Harper becomes the 3rd youngest Major League All-Star ever and the youngest All-Star position player in history.

I don't know about you, but I now fully expect a home run or at least acrobatic catch out of Harper now that he is in the game. The kid certainly seems to have a flair for the dramatic. Not that Davey Johnson or Mike Rizzo would want this, but why not put Harper in that clown competition that is the home run derby if he's going to be at the festivities after all?
