PGA Championship Leaderboard Update: Second Round Brutal To D.C. Golfers

To say the second round of the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina has not been kind to golfers from the Washington, D.C. area would be an understatement. The best second round score by a golfer from the D.C. area is from Virginia Beach, Va. resident Marc Leishman, who is currently even through 13 holes in the second round and is shooting two-over for the tournament.

Brandon de Jong, who graduated from Virginia Tech, entered the second round at one-under. He collapsed with a six-over, putting his tournament score at five-over. John Rollins, born in Richmond, Va. and went to Virginia Commonwealth University, entered the day even on the tournament, but imploded with a 10-over 82. Other D.C. area golfers, including Daniel Balin of Rockville, Md. and Virginia Tech graduate Johnson Wagner are both over for the tournament by double digit strokes.

The leaders of the tournament, including current leader Carl Pettersson of Sweden, will tee off after 1:40 p.m. later on Friday.
