The Washington Nationals are approaching the alleged shutdown of pitcher Stephen Strasburg here in the next few starts. He takes the hill tonight as the Nationals open a three game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks and are looking to extend their six-game winning streak.
Strasburg is coming off a start where he pitched six shut out innings against the Miami Marlins on August 5. In that start he allowed only three hits and struck out six as well.
The Diamondbacks will counter with pitcher Trevor Cahill (9-9, 3.76). In his last start against the Philadelphia Phillies on August 5, Cahill went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six in a no decision.
The game is set for a start time of 9:40 p.m. with the television broadcast on MASN 2. Radio coverage of the game will be provided by 106.7 The Fan FM, 1500 WFED AM and 1580 WHFS AM.
