PGA Championship 2012: Storm Halts Play, Third Round To Resume Sunday

Third-round play at the 94th PGA Championship on Saturday was suspended due to rain, which hit The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, S.C. just as overnight leader Tiger Woods began sliding.

Though sharing the 36-hole lead on Friday, Woods found himself five shots behind the leader and facing a 6-foot par putt on the eighth hole just as sirens ran, halting play.

The leader now becomes Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh, who are at 6-under-par through nine and seven holes respectively. McIlroy was amid a steady climb Saturday, at 4-under, before the stoppage.

Third-round play will resume on Sunday at 7:45 a.m. The fourth and final round of the tournament is scheduled to begin at 11:44 a.m. with the last group of the day to tee off at about 1:45 p.m. Twenty-six players didn't finish the round and all will be returning Sunday.
