The Washington Redskins are preparing for their second game of preseason coming this Saturday against the Chicago Bears. They look to be healthier in the receiving corps this with week, with Anthony Armstrong expected to play coming off a shoulder injury. Armstrong is fighting for a roster spot at the moment, but he has been able to use his speed as a valuable deep threat in the past.
Unfortunately, the Redskins' offensive line will still be very banged up. Starting left tackle Treat Williams suffered a foot injury last Thursday when someone fell on his foot. X-rays taken after the game came back negative and it appeared the injury was not be serious. On Monday, head coach Mike Shanahan said he did not know how long Williams would be out.
"He's pretty sore right now. We'll have to play it day-by-day," Shanahan said. "I know it'll be a few days. It's kind of wait and see right now."
Center Will Montgomery was the only starting Redskins' offensive lineman to go through practice Saturday. Left guard Maurice Hurt, already playing in place of Kory Lichtensteiger, is suffering from an inflamed tendon behind his left knee. Right tackle Jammal Brown is on the physically unable to perform list and right guard Chris Chester missed last week's game with a sprained left ankle.
It remains to be seen who will be available along the line come Saturday.
