The 2012 Citi Open continued on Wednesday with a full day of matches. Tommy Haas, the No. 4 seed in the tournament was able to take down Leonardo Mayer in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 to move on to the next round.
American James Blake cruised to a quick victory in straight sets over Marco Chiudinelli, taking him down 6-2, 6-4 to continue in the tournament. Tobias Kamke took down Marinko Matosevic 6-4, 6-3 in the late match of the afternoon.
On the women's side of things, No. 4 seeded Vania King won in straight sets over Irini Falconi 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) but it wasn't easy as King needed to win a tie break. Coco Vandeweghe cruised right past Aravane Rezai 6-2, 6-2 to win in straight sets.
Eugenie Bouchard was able to upset No. 8 seed Olga Govortsova after dropping the first set 6-1. Bouchard came back to rally and win the next two sets 6-0, 6-3 to take the match.
With much of the top tennis competition competing in London in the 2012 Summer Olympics, the field is wide ope and really anyone's game.
