2012 U.S. Open Scores: Straight-Set Victories Common On Women's Side

The second day of the 2012 U.S. Open is currently underway, and slew of women's first-round singles matches have been completed. The most notable victory came from No. 2-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska, who cruised past Nina Bratchikova in a straight-set victory, 6-1, 6-1, at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Also moving onto the second round were: No. 12-seeded Ana Ivanovic (6-3, 6-2 over Elina Svitolina), Sofia Arvidsson (6-4, 6-2 over Kimiko date-Krumm), Andrea Hlavackova (6-4, 6-4 over Klara Zakopalova), Elena Vesnina (7-6, 6-1 over Shuai Peng), Ekaterina Makarova (6-1, 6-4 over Eleni Daniilidou), Carla Suarez Navarro (retired, Ksenia Pervak) and Galina Voskoboeva (6-1, 6-3 over Arantxa Rus).

Currently, American Andy Roddick is taking on fellow countryman Rhyne Williams at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Venus Williams follows that match -- around 4 p.m. ET -- as she takes on Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
