Day 3 kicks off at the U.S. Open on Wednesday, with some of the world's best hitting the courts at Flushing Meadows in New York. Among the stars who will play their opening matches is John Isner, the ninth-seeded American looking to improve upon a quarterfinal appearance in last year's U.S. Open.
Isner opens with the veteran from Belgium, Xavier Malisse, and will likely hit Arthur Ashe Stadium, the complex's center court, at around 1 p.m. EST.
Before Isner gets under way, women's No. 1 Victoria Azarenka will square off with unranked Kirsten Flipkens to start the day session.
Night tennis at will include gold medalist Andy Murray's second-round match as well as Maria Sharapova looking to advance to the third round, where she made her exit last year.
David Ferrer and Juan Martin del Potro will also see action on Louis Armstrong Court during the day session.
