2012 London Olympics Local Heroes: One More Event For Gabby Douglas, Matt Centrowitz Tries To Make History Tuesday

With track and field action in full swing at the Olympic Stadium, two local athletes will try to win some medals Tuesday night. The first is Richmond's Kellie Wells, who will race in the 100m hurdles (Semifinals at 2:15 p.m., Final at 4:00 p.m.). Wells will be followed by Matt Centrowitz of Annapolis, who will try to be the first American to win a medal in the 1500m race since the Mexico City Games in 1968. That race steps off at 4:15 p.m.

After winning two medals and settling for 8th place in Monday's uneven bars competition, Gabby Douglas will compete in her final event of the Olympics Tuesday, when she participates in the individual balance beam final (9:47 a.m.)
