Navy Vs. Penn State 2012: Midshipmen Stumble In 34-7 Loss To Nittany Lions

The Navy Midshipmen were handled in easy fashion by the Penn State Nittany Lions 34-7 on Saturday afternoon at Beaver Stadium.

The Midshipmen had great success on the ground, gaining 245 yards on 60 attempts. Gee Gee Greene and Keenan Reynolds led the way in that department, picking up 115 combined yards and a touchdown.

Navy couldn't muster any semblance of a passing attack, amassing just 126 yards on the afternoon. The combination of Trey Miller, Casey Bolena and Reynolds were very ineffective. The trio was only able to complete 13 passes against the Nittany Lions defense.

Matthew McGloin had infinitely more enjoyment throughout the afternoon, completing 13-of-21 for 231 yards while tossing four touchdowns. The senior signal-caller was on-target, avoiding any costly interceptions against the Midshipmen.

Wide receiver Allen Robinson had another spectacular game. The playmaking sophomore caught five passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns, easily having the best day of his Penn State career.
