The Washington Nationals return home after a rough road trip and look to right the ship against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This series is significant to the playoff chances of both teams. The Nationals are coming off a sweep at the hands of the Atlanta Braves and now find themselves only five games ahead of Atlanta in the NL East. The Dodgers are presently out of the division race, but they stand only one game out of the second Wild Card spot.

Jordan Zimmermann (10-8, 3.01) takes the mound for the Nationals coming off a quality start against the New York Mets where he allowed two runs on six hits and added six strikeouts in six innings of work. Zimmermann is 2-2 in his last eight starts.

For Los Angeles, Aaron Harang (9-9, 3.79) gets the start. Harang hasn't made it past the sixth inning since Aug. 18, but he also has not allowed more than three earned runs since July 30. He lost his last start after allowing three runs on four hits and four walks in 5⅔ innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
