The seventh day of the U.S. Open is underway at Flushing Meadows and Sunday promises to feature some exciting matches as the third round concludes for the men and the women begin the round of 16.
No. 2 Novak Djokovic has already advanced, beating Julien Benneteau in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 5-2. At Louis Armstrong Stadium right now No. 4 David Ferrer took the first set against Leyton Hewitt 7-6 but dropped the second set 6-4 to even the match at one apiece.
the next match at Arthur Ashe Stadium, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET, is Andy Roddick's highly anticipated third round match against Fabio Fognini. The American has announced that he will retire following this U.S. Open.
Other notable matches coming up this afternoon, No. 7 Juan Martin Del Potro and fellow Argentinian Leonardo Mayer are in the first set of their match with Del Potro leading 3-2. The night session match at Arthur Ashe Stadium features No. 9 John Isner and No 13. Philipp Kohlschreiber.
On the women's side, the morning session features fourth round matches of No. 1 Victoria Azarenka taking on Anna Tatishvili and defending champion No. 7 Samantha Stosur facing Laura Robson. The 7:00 p.m. night session will have No. 3 Maria Sharapova going up against No. 19 Nadia Petrova.
Arlington-resident Denis Kudla was eliminated back in the first round by No. 24 Marcel Granollers.

Sunday's matches can be seen either on TV or via live online streaming. CBS and the CBS Sports Network will broadcast matches from until 7 p.m. ET, while the Tennis Channel will broadcast from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m ET.
