Bowling Green Vs. Virginia Tech Score Update: Logan Thomas Passes Hokies To Lead

The Virginia Tech Hokies lead Bowling Green, 21-0, after one half in Blacksburg. Coming off an ugly loss to Pitt, the Hokies offense got off to a slow start again. But Logan Thomas connected on two second-quarter touchdown passes for a quick 14-0 lead. Thomas hit J.C. Coleman for a 10-yard strike, and less than three minutes later, Dyrell Roberts hauled in a big 42-yarder.

The massive VTech quarterback then perfectly executed a touchdown drive in the final five minutes to take a commanding 21-0 lead. Thomas was hitting his receivers right in the numbers, firing strikes and getting the ball quickly to the outside. He scrambled to the his right and appeared to dive across the end zone for his first rushing touchdown of the day, but his knee was ruled down at the one. Moments later, the 260-pound quarterback would punch it in for the three-touchdown lead.Thomas finished the half 9 of 17 for 127 yards.

The Falcons are not a complete cupcake, hanging with Florida into the fourth quarter in the opening week of the season, but Bud Foster's defense – one week after being gashed by Pitt – has bottled up the Falcons.
