The Virginia Tech Hokies meet the undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats at FedEx Field in a showdown between members of the ACC and Big East conferences on Saturday afternoon.
Virginia Tech (3-1, 1-0 in the ACC) rebounded from a Sept. 15 upset 35-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers with a 37-0 victory over Bowling Green on Sept. 22. Junior quarterback Logan Thomas threw for 144 yards on 11-for-26 passing with two touchdowns and one interception. Thomas also ran for a touchdown while racking up 65 yards on 15 carries on the ground against the Falcons.
Cincinnati (2-0, 1-0 in the Big East) is coming off of a 23-7 win on Sept. 15 over Delaware State after crushing Pittsburgh, 34-10, in their season-opener.
The Bearcats currently rank third overall in the nation in points allowed, giving up only 8½ points per game so far.
The game is set for kickoff at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., at 3:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPNU or WatchESPN. Current odds, according to OddsShark, has the Hokies favored by seven points.
