2013 NFL Playoffs: Alfred Morris named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Alfred Morris is racking up yards and awards lately.

USA TODAY Sports

Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his role in beating the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East crown last Sunday.

Morris rushed for 200 yards and scored three touchdowns against the Cowboys, all while breaking Clinton Portis' franchise single-season rushing mark. On the year, Morris finished with 1,613 yards on the ground.

Last week marked the seventh time Morris eclipsed the 100-yard mark but was the first occasion which he ran for 200 yards. His previous career-high was against the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 9 when he rushed for 129 yards in the Redskins' victory.

Morris ended the regular season averaging 4.8 yards per carry which puts him at ninth in the league and second in the NFL only behind Adrian Peterson in rushing yardage. He also led the NFC with 22 broken tackles and 13 rushing touchdowns.

The Redskins will now host an NFC Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
