The Washington Wizards have joined in on the hunt to trade for Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith. As the NBA trade deadline nears, there has not been indication on who the Wizards would trade, but Chris Broussard of ESPN tweeted about who the team would not be willing to give up:
In talks with ATL for Josh Smith, Wizards have said all but 3 players available: J Wall, B Beal & Nene

Mike Prada at Bullets Forever offered up his take on Broussard's tweet:
This is one of the more hilarious tweets you'll see. Translated, it means: "Wizards want All-Star-caliber player, but are only willing to give up spare parts on a 15-36 team to acquire him." Not that they should adopt a different stance with Smith, since he's an impending free agent, but it shouldn't really take a ton of sourcing to figure out that Wall, Beal and Nene won't be going anywhere this year.
Smith is the hottest name on the trade market right now -- with J.J. Redick gaining steam -- and is averaging 17.4 points and 8.6 rebounds on the season. Both his points and rebounds are above his career numbers of 15.2 points and 8 boards. If the Wizards could acquire Smith without giving up any of their real assets, it would have to be considered the trade of the year.
Teaming Smith up with Nene in the frontcourt would be an ideal pairing for the fast-paced John Wall and sharp-shooting Bradley Beal. The Hawks will continue to field offers for Smith and more rumors are sure to come out of Washington.
