Houston Dynamo vs. D.C. United: United Lead 1-0 At The Half Thanks To Maicon Santos

D.C. United (3-2-3, 12 points) lead Houston Dynamo (2-1-2, 8 points) by a score of 1-0 at the half. United took the lead after a great play by Chris Pontius led to a cross to Maicon Santos, who headed home the goal.

United took control from there, as they maintained long spells of possession and rarely allowed Dynamo to get on the attack.

The rain, which was pounding RFK before the game, let up for most of the half. However, with just a few minutes left in the half, the rain picked up and D.C. United suffered because of it. Perry Kitchen looked like he twisted his ankle, while Emiliano Dudar pulled up lame and grabbed his hamstring.

Dudar had to be subbed off in the 45th minute for Marcelo Saragosa. Perry Kitchen moved into the center of the defense for Dudar, while Saragosa takes over for Kitchen in the midfield.

United will look to maintain the 1-0 lead and win back-to-back games for the first time since 2009, while hoping to escape the elements without any more injuries.
