D.C. United vs. New England Revolution: United Give Up Two Early Second-Half Goals, But Santos Saves The Day In 3-2 Win

United looked on their way to an easy win at the half, leading 2-0. However, and early barrage from the Revolution saw them tie things up just five minutes in to the second half and put a scare in a United team looking to sit atop the Eastern Conference.

After the rough start, United seemed to settle down and go back on the offensive after Maicon Santos enterted the game in the 57th minute for Branko Boskovic. Santos added the game winner on a nice give-and-go just four minutes after entering the game.

United were able to hang on for the full three points, but not without New England trying to equalize. Bill Hamid had to make, what could be the save of the season for United, a diving save in the 90th minute to preserve the win.

United now have three weeks off in the league and will sit atop the Eastern Conference heading in to their break. United sit on 27 points at 8-4-3. United will resume action in Philadelphia on June 16th.
