D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls have faced off twice during the MLS season with each team winning in its home stadium. But as the two squads prepare to take the pitch on Wednesday night at RFK Stadium, there will be much more at stake as the Atlantic Cup will be on the line.
DCU owns the all-time head-to-head series against the Red Bulls (31 wins, 20 losses, seven draws), but New York has won the last two Atlantic Cups. D.C. United does have an advantage going into the match as New York has lost its last seven contests away from Red Bulls Arena.
As for injuries, defensemen Robbie Russell (plantar fasciitis) and Daniel Woolard (concussion-like symptoms) are listed as being out for the match while forward Maicon Santos (toe soreness) is listed as doubtful and midfielder Lewis Neal (adductor strain) is listed as probable.
The match begins at 8 p.m. ET and can be seen locally on Galavision and will be live streamed on MLS Live.
