Earlier this afternoon, as fans across the region paid tribute, #thanksjaime was the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter in Washington D.C. The name Jaime Moreno was also in the top 10.
↵Getting Moreno's name to trend on Twitter is one way to honor the legend. Another way is to give him gifts. That's what DC United players did prior to his final practice session at RFK Stadium today.
↵Steven Goff of the Washington Post gives us the description:
↵↵↵In the locker room before training this morning, the players presented Moreno with a Louis Vuitton suitcase with his initials, D.C. United and "99" embroidered on it. The team will present more gifts during Saturday's ceremonies. After practice, about two dozen DCU staff members came down to practice for handshakes, hugs and photos.
↵
United defender Rodney Wallace snapped a picture of the presents in an "emotional" locker room, as Moreno said goodbye.
