Referees Deny Jaime Moreno's Quest For Goalscoring Record

As D.C. sports fan, you probably know that Jaime Moreno is the MLS All-Time Leading Goal Scorer. But what you might not know is that Jeff Cunningham of FC Dallas tied Moreno's record at 133 goals last week.

With just three matches left in the regular season, and Moreno retiring from United at year's end, the legend has very few opportunities remaining to reclaim his record. He had been riding the bench for most of 2010, but was giving his first start tonight since August.

Unfortunately it didn't last long. Just seven minutes into DC United's match against the San Jose Earthquakes, a red card to Moreno ended his night early, and will also keep him out of United's next match in Chicago.
