VIDEO: D.C. United Unveils Season Promo, Slogan Is 'Unite'

↵

D.C. United's communications team always does a great job, and this season promo video is no exception. It's one minute and 30 seconds of outstanding music, spliced in with the necessary clips to get everyone ready for the Black and Red's first MLS game on Saturday against the Columbus Crew.

The slogan of the season is, evidently, "Unite," which seems fitting enough given the team's nickname. There's also the phrase "Past Success Means Nothing" tied in there, which is interesting given how disastrous last season was and how it didn't stand up to the pedigree of the franchise's history. Other phrases spliced in there include "Lead By Example," "Respect Must Be Earned," "Prove Your Worth," "Take Nothing For Granted" and "Seize Every Opportunity," which are all fitting for a team trying to dig itself out of the MLS basement.

The video's creators, Director of Marketing and Communications Kyle Sheldon and Creative Director Ben Mahler, are already putting the rest of MLS on notice. Might this be the start of a marketing war?
