The North American Soccer Reporters confirmed what many had already conceded on Monday when it named Dwayne De Rosario MLS Player of the Week for the third time this season. De Rosario recorded his second hat-trick of the season and assisted on a fourth goal in D.C. United's 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake. De Rosario's three goal in 31 minutes made up the fastest hat trick from the start of a match in MLS history, and left the Canadian international all alone at the top of the MLS goal-scoring table with 13 goals, one ahead of both Thierry Henry of New York Red Bulls and Landon Donovan of the Los Angeles Galaxy.

De Rosario previously won Player of the Week honors on August 1after scoring both goals in United's 2-0 road win over the San Jose Earthquakes. He defended the award the very next week, when he scored his first hat trick of the season in United's 3-3 home draw against Toronto FC. De Rosario's heroics also earned him the MLS Player of the Month Award for August.
