The George Mason Patriots went on a 14-0 run early in the second half, and they never turned back.
In this the first ever meeting between the two basketball players, George Mason emerged with a balanced victory. Three starters were in double digit scoring and Cam Long added 10 rebounds in the victory. Luke Hancock led the Patriots with 14 points, Ryan Pearson had 13, and Andre Cornelius had 11.
The Harvard Crimson relied heavily on junior forward Keith Wright. He led all scorers with 22 points, doubling the total of the next highest scoring player in the lineup for the Crimson, and also added 16 rebounds. The Ivy League school had trouble with turnovers throughout the game though. The Crimson totalled 24 turnovers, and the Patriots were able to take advantage throughout the contest.
George Mason will return to action on Thursday night when the team will visit the Charlotte 49ers of the Atlantic 10.
