George Mason Vs. George Washington: Patriots Lead Defensive Struggle 28-26 At Halftime

The Patriots and Colonials both came into tonight's game struggling on the offensive end and tonight's game has done nothing to help either team. The rivalry jitters appear to have gotten the best of both teams offensively, with neither team shooting over 35 percent in the first half.

Mike Morrison led the effort for the Patriots in the first half, scoring 10 points and grabbing four rebounds. The Colonials have been benefiting from a little more balanced attack, with David Pellom leading the way with 6 points and 5 rebounds.

The biggest lead in the half came with Mason took an 11-4 lead ten minutes through the half. Since then, it's been a good back and forth battle, with neither team able to make a run.  So far, it's made for some compelling drama, which is just the kind of thing you want to see in a budding rivalry game.
