George Mason Vs. James Madison: Led By Cam Long, GMU Pulls Out A Close Win Against JMU 75-73

The George Mason Patriots eeked out a close game against James Madison Dukes 75-73.

It was a tight affair the entire way, with each team having key runs in the second half. The start of the second half saw the Dukes come storming back, eventually taking an eight point lead around the 13 minute mark. However, Jim Larranaga decided to put his big man, Mike Morrison, back in the game with four fouls. Morrison awarded his coaches trust when he sparked a George Mason run that would give them the lead for good.

Although Morrison helped spark the decisive run, the star of this game was undoubtedly guard Cam Long. Long had 30 points to go along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds on the day. He started the game off hot, with 13 points in the first half, and ended the game the same way, with 17 points in the second period.

With this win, the Patriots are now 6-2 in the CAA, a half game behind leaders VCU and Hofstra. Their next challenge will be at Delaware as they will play the Blue Hens in their next game.
