Top 25 Preseason College Basketball Rankings: George Mason Among Others Receiving Votes In USA Today Poll

The preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll is out, and the highest team on the list is George Mason at No. 38.

The preseason college basketball rankings are starting to come out, and local teams were shut out in the ESPN/USA Today/Coaches Top 25 Poll. The highest local team to appear on the poll is actually George Mason, who was highest among Colonial Athletic Association teams with 12 votes.

That places the Patriots at No. 38 overall in the rankings. They are soon followed by 2011 Final Four participant VCU (four votes) and CAA preseason favorite Drexel (two votes). Here is the complete Top 25 poll.
