NCAA Basketball Schedule, TV Times And More: George Mason, George Washington In Action

Thanksgiving Week, among other things, means a healthy serving of college basketball tournaments. George Washington and George Mason are both in action at the Progressive CBE Classic and Preseason NIT respectively.

Turkey Week is great for many things. Friends, family, food, and an overdose of sporting events to watch on the gridiron and the hardwood. This week is typically the one when college basketball really gets going in earnest, with a number of tournaments taking place across the country.

Georgetown's participation in the Maui Invitational is the highest profile appearance among D.C. area teams participating in tournaments this week. The Hoyas face Kansas late Monday evening in the opening round of the stacked tournament. But George Washington and George Mason are also involved in noteworthy tournaments. Let's take a look.

George Mason (2-2) vs. Brown (2-2) (NIT Season Tip-Off)

When: Monday Nov. 21st, 7:30 pm

Where: Patriot Center, Fairfax, VA.

Background: Both the Patriots and the Bears have won one game and lost one game in this year's NIT bracket. As it always is, the tournament is double elimination for those in the consolation bracket.

Detroit (2-1) at George Washington (1-1) (Progressive CBE Classic)

When: Monday Nov. 21st, 5:00 pm

Where: The Stroh Center, Bowling Green, OH

Background: The Colonials will play three games in three days beginning Monday afternoon. Their scheduled opponents are the Detroit Titans, Austin Peay Governors and Bowling Green Falcons, who they'll play on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, respectively.
