George Washington Vs. Austin Peay Final Score: Colonials Stave Off Governors, 54-52

George Washington won its second game in as many days in the Progressive CBE Classic by holding off the winless Austin Peay Governors, 54-52, Tuesday afternoon from the brand new Stroh Center on the Bowling Green University campus. After beating a quality Detroit team in the tournament opener on Monday, George Washington struggled against Austin Peay. They shot just 39.6 from the floor, converted just seven of their 12 free throw attempts, and turned the ball over 16 times compared to just 10 for Austin Peay.

The win, despite being less than impressive, improved the Colonials' record to 3-1. Not a bad start to the Paul Hewitt era at GW. Aaron Ware led all Colonials scorers with 12 points. Tony Taylor added 11 points, but needed 12 field goal attempts to get there. TyShawn Edmondson of the Governors led all scorers with 17 points.

The Colonials will round out their participation in the CBE Classic with a Wednesday game against host Bowling Green. The Falcons won their opening game against Austin Peay, and are set to tip off against Detroit early Tuesday evening.
