Luke Hancock's Prep School Coach Hired To Be Louisville Assistant Coach

Louisville may seem like a surprising destination for Luke Hancock, the standout George Mason basketball sophomore that elected to transfer after Jim Larranaga left for Miami. It wasn't on Hancock's radar at the start of the process, but ended up being the place Hancock decided to go.

But why? Ah, now it has become a little more clear. Guess who Louisville has just hired as one of their new assistant coaches (emphasis mine):

University of Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with the media on Tuesday afternoon to introduce the Cardinals' new coaching staff - associate coach Richard Pitino and assistant coaches Wyking Jones and Kevin Keatts.

[...]

Keatts, through 10 seasons at Hargrave Military Academy in two separate stints as the head coach (1999-2001, 2003-2011), compiled an incredible 262-17 record with two national prep titles (2004, 2008), three runner-up finishes (2005, 2006, 2009) and two additional appearances among the final four prep teams (2007, 2010).

You know who is an alum of Hargrave Military Academy? Luke Hancock, Class of 2009. And another piece of the puzzle falls into place.
