The George Mason Patriots (16-5, 8-1 CAA) look to maintain their dominance of the CAA when they visit the Hofstra Pride (7-14, 1-8 CAA) on Wednesday. GMU has won five straight games and holds a one-game edge on the Va. Commonwealth Rams in the CAA standings.
In their last outing, the Patriots dealt the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks a 67-61 defeat behind 20 points from Ryan Pearson. The Patriots outrebounded the Seahawks, 44-35, helping them earn the win despite 1-of-16 shooting from three-point range; UNC-Wilmington went 9-of-25 from deep.
The Pride have lost seven of their last eight games, most recently a 61-49 defeat against the Rams. Mike Moore, the CAA's top scorer at 19.4 points per game, led Hofstra with 17 points, but the Pride shot just 36.7 percent from the field and committed 18 turnovers. Bradford Burgess lead VCU with 14 points, while Juvonte Reddic posted 10 points and 10 boards.
