George Mason Vs. Hofstra: Patriots Host Struggling Pride In CAA Contest

The George Mason Patriots men's basketball team host the Hofstra Pride Wednesday (7 p.m. on ESPN3).

The George Mason Patriots will look for a season sweep of the Hofstra Pride Wednesday night, as the two Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball program meet at the Patriot Center (7 p.m. on ESPN3). The Patriots (19-6, 11-2 CAA) are trying to keep pace for the CAA's top spot, while the Pride (8-7, 2-11) are trying to stay out of the league's cellar.

On Saturday, George Mason earned its seventh victory in eight tries by downing visiting Old Dominion, 54-50. Patriots' leading scorer, senior forward Ryan Pearson, netted a game-best 17 points helping his team overcome a poor shooing night of just 27.7-perecent from the field.

Perason enters as the Patriots leading scorer with 17.8 ppg, while Mike Moore is the Pride's top scorer with 19.4 points per game. Moore's total is the best in the CAA, as teammate Nathaniel Lester chips in with an average of 14 ppg and 6.7 rebounds per game.

On Jan. 25, George Mason won at Hofstra, 55-50.
