NIT Bracket 2012 Announced, Maryland, George Mason Don't Make It

The 2012 NIT bracket has been announced, and both Maryland and George Mason missed the field. The Patriots were snubbed despite finishing third in the CAA, while the Terps failed to earn a bid for the second straight year.

Other teams from both squad's conferences made the field. Fellow ACC squad Miami earned a No. 2 seed and a game against No. 7 Valparaiso, while Drexel earned a No. 3 seed and will face Central Florida.

The Patriots' season is now over, as they have already announced that they will not accept a bid to the CBI or CIT Tournament if they missed the NIT. The Terps' season is likely over as well. After making postseason play every year since 1992, the Terps, barring an invitation to the CBI or CIT Tournaments, will miss the postseason for the second straight year.
