After an up-and-down non-conference season, George Mason will begin its CAA schedule on Thursday night. The Patriots will open things up by hosting Northeastern.
It's a game George Mason should win, as Northeastern is 5-7 on the season and has lost six of its last seven games overall. The Huskies are led by senior guard Joel Smith, who is averaging a team-high 16.7 points per game.
George Mason finishes up the rigorous early part of its schedule with a 7-5 record. That mark includes a win over Virginia and single-digit losses to New Mexico and Maryland.
In the team's last game, George Mason fell to South Florida, 61-57. Sherrod Wright had 22 points in the defeat.
These two teams played just once last season, and the Huskies won, 85-82, in overtime. Northeastern's Jonathan Lee scored 27 points in the victory.
