The Battle Of The Orange Line Has Commenced

Given their status as two of the lesser-known college basketball powers in Washington D.C., George Washington and George Mason have to do something to increased the buzz surrounding their programs. So, last year, the two schools decided to drum up the trash talk for their first meeting in a decade, creating something known as "The Battle of the Orange Line."

George Washington won that game, and now, the rivalry is back on. The two men's teams play at the Patriot Center on December 1, and the women's teams play at the Smith Center on December 5. Right on cue, the site "beatgeorgemason.com" has already been set up, with this mascot video as the promo.

Besides the fact that the GW mascot cheated, it looks like a pretty even fight. Anyway, the trash talking has already begun on Twitter, and will surely continue until December 1. Because hey, who doesn't like two mid-major programs getting into it a month before the big game?

(I'm being serious there, by the way. We need more D.C. college hoops rivalries).
