VCU Vs. George Washington Final Score: Rams Roll To 75-60 Win In BB&T Classic Opener

The 2011 BB&T Classic opener went Virginia Commonwealth's way. Using stifling pressure defense, the Rams topped George Washington, 75-60, in the first game of a doubleheader. Maryland will face Notre Dame in the second contest. VCU moves to 6-3 on the year and has played much better of late. George Washington falls to 4-3.

The Rams raced ahead in the first half, taking a 17-point lead into the dressing room. George Washington attempted to rally late, cutting VCU's lead to seven points with 10 minutes to go in the game, but the Rams turned the switch back on and pulled away for the 15-point win.

Bradford Burgess led VCU with a game-high 24 points. Tony Taylor scored 14 points for George Washington.
