The George Washington Colonials will look to bounce back from their season-opening loss to Youngstown State when they go on the road to face the Boston University Terriers Saturday afternoon. The Terriers are 0-2 on the year following losses to Northeastern and Canisius.
George Washington got big production from Villanova transfer Isaiah Armwood in their first game of the year. Armwood scored 18 points on 5 of 8 shooting, and was dominant in drawing fouls. Armwood shot 12 free throws, making eight. The 6'9 senior was adept at getting to the line in his final season at Villanova, earning 40 free throws on just 55 field goal attempts.
BU is led by guard D.J. Irving. The junior is taking nearly 32 percent of the shots while he is on the floor, and he is knocking down 63 percent of his two-pointers. He is taking more threes this season, as he has put up 13 shots from beyond the arc in two games after taking just 84 all of last year. This has led to a significant drop in the number of free throws Irving takes, but he has the athleticism to get to the rim frequently.
The game is expected to come down to the wire. KenPom.com predicts a 64-62 BU win, but with just 57 percent confidence.
