The George Washington Colonials, winners of just two of their last nine games, precariously sit in 12th place in the Atlantic 10 conference with two regular season games to play. As of this moment, George Washington would make the 2012 Atlantic 10 Tournament, but if they were to finish in 13th or 14th place in the conference their season would be over, as only the top 12 teams at the conclusion of the regular season qualify.

First round games for the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship will be played on Tuesday, March 6, on the campuses
of teams seeded No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8. The site then shifts to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey for the remainder of the tournament, March 9-11.
