Semifinal Saturday at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Tournament has come and gone in Atlantic City, with two teams left standing to square off in the championship game for the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament: the Xavier Musketeers and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
No. 3 seed Xavier defeated Saint Louis 71-64 on Saturday, behind 21 points from Tu Holloway and two late clutch free throws from Kenny Frease. The Musketeers have been to six straight NCAA Tournaments.
St. Bonaventure, the No. 4 seed this weekend, squeaked out a 84-80 win over upstart No. 8 seed UMass to advance to the title game. Demetrius Conger led the way for the Bonnies, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. A win in the championship game would send St. Bonaventure to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000.
The 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship Game will be played at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, and will air on CBS.
