George Washington picked up a new recruit for their 2012-2013 class on Monday. Kevin Larsen, a 6'10" center from Montrose Christian, announced on Monday that he was signing with the Colonials, according to Ben Standig of CSN Washington. The move was expected.
Larsen is the latest recruit to commit to George Washington. In January, Landon point guard Joe McDonald committed to GWU. McDonald opted to stay close to home over going to Princeton.
In November 2011, Patricio Garino, Paris Maragkos and Kethan Savage all signed letters of intent to play at George Washington. Savage hails from Alexandria, Va., where he played at Episcopal High School and earned numerous honors in his career there.
Maragkos, 6'9" is from Greece, where he has lengthy resume playing in international competition. He enrolled last year at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va. Garino attended Montverde Academy in Florida, though he is originally from Argentina. Last summer, he led the Argentinian team to the bronze medal game of the U-19 World Championships.
