The Georgetown Hoyas were already thin up front entering the 2010-11 season. Then, they lost freshman Moses Ayegba to an NCAA rules violation for nine games. Now, they will be without Julian Vaughn for the forseeable future.
Vaughn was in the hospital yesterday with an undisclosed illness, and he hasn't recovered in time for tonight's game. Hoyas coach John Thompson III told assembled media that he will be sidelined indefinitely. Via Tarik El-Bashir of the Washington Post.
Vaughn fell ill yesterday. JTIII says: "We do not know when [he will be cleared] and at this point do not have enough data to speculate."
Vaughn is the only returning starter for the Hoyas up front. Last season, he teamed with Greg Monroe, averaging 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in 22.6 minutes per game. This will mean increased playing time for Hollis Thompson and Henry Sims up front.
