Georgetown Vs. Memphis: Hoyas Make Statement In 86-69 Victory Over Memphis

The last time that No. 10 Georgetown played a Top 25 team known as the Tigers, they escaped with a victory on the road against the No. 9 Missouri Tigers. Thursday night in yet another road game against a ranked team known as the Tigers, the Hoyas didn't have as much of a problem.

Austin Freeman scored 24 points on nine-of-12 shooting to lead the Hoyas to an impressive 86-69 victory over the No. 16 Memphis Tigers.

Chris Wright had 19 points for the Hoyas, while Julian Vaughn had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Georgetown shot 57% from the field, including 45% from beyond the arc. The Hoyas entered the game as the nation's second-most efficient shooting team (52.5%) and had no problem keeping Memphis at bay throughout the game.

The Hoyas are now done with the non-conference portion of their schedule. On December 29, Georgetown will travel to South Bend for a game against the No. 22 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
