St. John's Vs. Georgetown: Hoyas Blow Away Red Storm 77-52

Outside the Verizon Center, a snowstorm covered the D.C. streets with several inches of snow. Inside the Verizon Center, the Red Storm was anything but threatening.

Paced by Jason Clark's 16 points, the Georgetown Hoyas exacted revenge on St. John's for last month's loss in a 77-52 blowout.

Hollis Thompson had 15 points off of the bench, while Austin Freeman had 14 points. Chris Wright and Julian Vaughn each had nine. St. John's was led by Justin Burrell's 12 points off of the bench.

After a back-and-forth start, the Hoyas used a 10-0 run at the end of the first half to take a 13-point halftime lead. The second half was anything but close as Georgetown pulled away and never looked back.

Georgetown had a great night from the floor, shooting 52 percent from the field, including nine three-pointers. The Hoyas even shot well from the free throw line, going 16-23.

The win puts the Hoyas back at .500 in Big East play at 4-4, three games back of first place Pittsburgh. Georgetown will have a big test ahead of them January 29 against the No. 8 Villanova Wildcats in Philadelphia.
