The Georgetown Hoyas will celebrate their first practice of the 2011/12 season with their annual Midnight Madness event Thursday evening at McDonough Arena at 8:30 PM; the school will also stream the event live and free of charge at GUHoyas.com.
Students wishing to attend Midnight Madness need to arrive at 6 PM, when the school will distribute wristbands for entry. As an added incentive to come out early, Georgetown will provide free food to the first 250 students to arrive. In addition, all students will receive "a Georgetown Basketball T-shirt, a lighted rally towel and a drawstring backpack (courtesy of Capital One)," according to the school. The doors open at 8 PM.
The school touts performances by its step team, a "special musical performer," and its cheer squad. Former Hoyas star Greg Monroe, now of the Detroit Pistons, will be honored.
The men's basketball team will cap the evening with a dunk exhibition and a series of drills.
Georgetown's official website has complete Midnight Madness details. Casual Hoya remains your source for Hoyas coverage.
