George Mason Vs. Monmouth Recap: Patriots Blow Out Hawks 71-39

The George Mason patriots were able to bounce back after losing to FIU in their last game against Monmouth on Tuesday, blowing out the Monmouth Hawks 71-39.

They were once again led by Ryan Pearson who notched his third double-double of the year with 16 points and 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes of court time. In fact, no one on Mason played more than 29 minutes as the game was fairly well in hand for much of the evening. Vertrail Vaughns also starred for Mason, scoring 12 points on 4-8 shooting from behind the arc. The Patriot team as a whole shot 8-19 from the three-point line.

Monmouth failed to produce a double digit scorer, but they were led by Ed Waite who had nine points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the Patriots had nine players play for fifteen minutes or more, and got significant scoring contributions from almost all of them.

The next game for the Patriots will come on Saturday against Florida Atlantic, and hopefully they have a better result than the last time they played a team from the Sunshine State.
