Thursday evening, the No. 16 Georgetown Hoyas (9-1) host the Memphis Tigers (6-4), aiming to defeat Memphis for the second time this season and fourth consecutive time overall.
On Nov. 22, the Hoyas upset the then-No. 8 Tigers, 91-88, in overtime at the Maui Invitational Tournament. Jason Clark scored a game-high 27 for Georgetown, while Henry Sims tallied 24 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Clark hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 52 seconds remaining in overtime, and Antonio Barton missed his tying three-point attempt at the buzzer, giving the Hoyas an impressive win.
Georgetown has won each of its last seven games. Memphis, meanwhile, has lost two of its last three, including a stunning 76-72 loss to the Murray State Racers on Dec. 11. Donte Pool scored 20 points and made six three-pointers, helping the Racers pull off the upset of the No. 21 Tigers.
