The Georgetown Hoyas are good. But tonight Kemba Walker was better.
The star point guard for the Connecticut Huskies had 31 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds in a dominating performance in this important Big East matchup between two of the top http://www.sbnation.com/admin/entries/new_node/1761949?community_id=30313 teams in the nation. 21 of Walker's points came in the second half as he turned it on and took over. There wasn't a single player wearing dark blue who could stop Walker when he drove to the basket. Walker shot over 56% from the field and added four free throws.
The Huskies took the lead early in the second half and never looked back, closing out Georgetown with a final score of 78-70 and ending the team's winning streak at eight-games.
The Hoyas did well to keep pace with Walker, but fell short in the end. Chris Wright led the team with 19 points, making five of his nine three-point attempts. Jason Clark, Austin Freeman, and Hollis Thompson all scored in double-figures for the Hoyas, but it wasn't enough.
Jamal Coombs-McDaniel added 23 points and six rebounds for UCONN on an impressive 8-11 shooting.
