After 20 minutes, the No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish have built a 40-30 lead over the Cincinnati Bearcats in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament.
Tim Abromaitis leads all scorers with 14 points, while Big East Player of the Year Ben Hansbrough has nine points and four assists. Carleton Scott has 12 points. Meanwhile, Dion Dixon leads the Bearcats with 10 points. Yancy Gates has five points.
The two teams traded baskets to start the game with Notre Dame eventually building a 13-5 lead. The Bearcats would cut it to 13-10, but the Fighting Irish would extend the lead to 20-10 and kept it above five for the rest of the half. Notre Dame's largest lead was 12.
While the rebounding battle is deadlocked at 16 each, Notre Dame used its three-point prowess to pull away from the Bearcats. The Fighting Irish shot 8-16 from three point range.
