Big East Tournament 2011: Louisville Ends Day With 81-56 Win Over Marquette

The quarterfinal day in the Big East Tournament ended with yet another lopsided game that saw the No. 14 Louisville Cardinals defeat the Marquette Golden Eagles 81-56.

Mike Marra led the Cardinals with 22 points off of the bench, including six three-pointers. Preston Knowles had 15 points, Terrence Jennings had 12 points and Kyle Kuric had 11 points. For Marquette, Jimmy Butler had 14 points to lead the Golden Eagles.

The first half saw Marquette take a quick nine point lead before blowing it just as fast. Louisville had a five point lead at halftime and used a 12-5 run to start the second half to pull away. Louisville took advantage of Marquette's awful shooting performance which saw them shoot 29.8 percent from the field, 20 percent from the three-point line and 63.3 percent from the free throw line.

Louisville will advance to face the No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
