2011 NCAA Tournament: Will There Be Any Upsets In Friday's Sweet 16 Games?

=The second half of the Sweet 16 will be played tonight, and by tomorrow, there will only be eight teams alive in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The matchups tonight are a little bit less juicy because they feature some of the lower seeded teams still alive in the tournament. But i suppose there is a chance that one of the lower seeded team's Cinderella runs will continue.

Kevin Berger is previewing the games at SB Nation, and he doesn't think we'll see any upsets in the two Southwestern region games tonight.

It's not likely we'll see any more upsets in this region.  Florida State should handle VCU and Kansas won't have much trouble with a Richmond squad that lacks depth.  If Richmond stays in the ball game long enough to come down to one or two possessions however, they do have a huge advantage over KU because they have a better creator in Anderson to manufacture buckets down the stretch.  The Jayhawks lack that kind of playmaking at the guard spot, but it's doubtful the Spiders keep it close enough to make that matter.

How about in the East, Kevin?

Marquette has proven it can take down big, physical frontcourts after dismantling Syracuse, and North Carolina has shown a propensity to struggle with quick, athletic backcourts because they don't guard the perimeter all that well. That's a recipe for a shocking 11 vs. 2 seed upset and an upset stomach for Heels' fans.
